Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• 4x12 day shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Patient ratios of 1:6 standard, may flex to 1:7 in the event of an unplanned absence
• Every other weekend required
• On-call required on a PRN basis for low census
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs between like med surg units
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2-week period
• 2 years of experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted
• SC license or Compact license must be in hand prior to start
• Required certifications: BLS
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, NIHSS
• Epic charting experience required
• Scrub color: Royal Blue
• Free parking available
• Required skills include: Med/Surg, MS/Tele, Telemetry, Insulin, Rapid Response
• Additional skills include: Accessing/Managing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Chest tubes, Colostomy/ileostomy management, CVA care, Feeding tube care, Heparin, Wound Care/Wound Vac, Tracheostomy care, PICC line management, and more
• Patients served include adults and geriatrics with diagnoses such as diabetes, renal disease, hypertension, CAD, stroke, chest pain, and altered mental status
• All patients eligible for telemetry monitoring managed by monitor techs in a central location
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Radiology, Rapid Response Teams, and more
• Telemedicine equipment used on unit; instruction will be provided
