Respiratory Therapist - Registered Respiratory Therapist

Job Details:

• Work night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Required to work 1 weekend (Saturday and Sunday) per schedule
• Responsible for medication administration and implementing respiratory care based on expanded knowledge and experience
• Deliver patient care in complex, multiple problem-patient care situations
• Majority of time spent in critical care areas with protocol ventilator management
• Perform patient assessments and collaborate with healthcare team members in planning patient care
• Administer aerosolized medication, bronchial hygiene, volume expansion, oxygen and medical gas therapy
• Manage ventilators, perform weaning and wave form graphic interpretation
• Handle airway management including intubation, extubation, trach tube change and care
• Perform arterial blood gas sampling and analysis
• Assist in invasive and non-invasive procedures, cardiac service procedures, and pulmonary diagnostic testing
• Provide patient and family education, mentor new employees and students
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, NBRC-RRT, RCP
• 0-2 years clinical experience with minimum 6 months critical care experience required
• Critical care, emergency department, and pediatric experience required
• Uniform requirement: Dark grey pewter
• Must demonstrate strong communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and computer proficiency
