About this role

Good Shepherd Medical Center is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a 91-day travel assignment in Hermiston, Oregon. This position runs on a 5×8 day shift schedule, with weekly pay of $3,131.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures and related imaging techniques for interpretation by licensed practitioners
  • Prepare and instruct patients for procedures, ensuring cooperation while minimizing anxiety
  • Select and operate radiation detection, imaging, and associated equipment to complete procedures successfully
  • Position patients and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest while respecting patient comfort and ability
  • Prepare, calculate, identify, and administer radiopharmaceuticals and medications as prescribed by licensed practitioners
  • Evaluate images for technical quality and ensure proper patient identification is recorded
  • Perform venipuncture procedures as required
  • Initiate basic life support actions when necessary
  • Maintain universal precautions and aseptic techniques
  • Assist in maintaining records and patient confidentiality
  • Participate in department quality assessment and improvement initiatives
  • May manage inventory control and supply purchases for your assigned area
  • Provide practical instruction to students and other healthcare professionals

Required qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited nuclear medicine program
  • ARRT registered nuclear medicine technologist certification
  • Current BLS certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of nuclear medicine experience preferred

Physical requirements: This role requires continuous walking and standing throughout your shift. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds independently and frequently push, pull, carry, or reposition objects or patients weighing up to 25 pounds.
