ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts in a combined adult and pediatric emergency department
• On-call required every other weekend
• Patient ratio of 4:1 on days, nights, and weekends
• Weekend coverage required
• 24-hour orientation period
• Minimum 2 years of experience in emergency nursing required
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, CPI, and NIHSS
• AHA certifications required
• CPI certification required or must be obtained before start date
• Treat patients across all age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
• Department sees approximately 160 visits per day across 22 rooms and 31 beds
• Skills required include triage, IV management, blood product administration, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, intubation, procedural sedation, arterial line management, central line care, chest tube management, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, phlebotomy, obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG, splint application, and psychiatric hold management
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, and interpretation services
