About this role

You will work as an RN in a 30-bed Progressive Care Unit at HCA HealthONE Swedish in Denver, Colorado. This is a night shift position (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) on a three-12-hour schedule. The assignment runs for 91 days, starting July 20, 2026.

Role and Unit Environment

Your PCU serves cardiac progressive care patients in a fast-paced setting. You will typically care for four patients, sometimes five. The night team includes 5–8 RNs and 2–3 patient care technicians. You'll work with telemetry, transport monitors, feeding pumps, tracheostomies, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high-flow oxygen, chest tubes, Foley catheters, pacer wires, pacemakers, IV pumps, and sequential compression device pumps. The unit uses Meditech for electronic health records.

Clinical Responsibilities

You will provide post-catheterization care for right and left heart catheterizations, TAVR procedures, ablations, Watchman implants, pacemaker insertions, and TR band management. You'll care for post-thoracic surgery patients, including VATS/RATS, resections, lobectomies, and chest tube management. Pre- and post-operative care for open-heart patients includes CABGs, mitral and aortic valve replacements, and aortic dissection repairs. You will also manage post-operative vascular surgery patients.

Required Experience and Credentials

You must have a minimum of one year of current acute care PCU hospital experience. BLS and ACLS certifications are required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with chest tube management and removal, pacer wire removal, 12-lead EKGs, and oxygen therapy up to BiPAP and heated high-flow is valued. Familiarity with heparin, diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, dobutamine, milrinone, and ketamine drips is preferred.

Compensation

Weekly pay is $1,839.60.
