About this role

Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital is seeking an RN for our 44-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Albany, Georgia. This is a travel position offering 3x12-hour day shifts with a 119-day contract beginning May 11, 2026. You'll earn $2,181.24 weekly.

Role Overview

You will provide direct patient care on our cardiac stepdown unit, managing a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio. Your patients include post-operative cardiovascular surgery patients, CHF cases, atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular response, and those recovering from various cardiac procedures. You'll experience fast-paced care with 12–16 admissions and discharges per shift on busy days.

Shift Details

  • 12-hour shifts starting at 6:45 AM or 6:45 PM
  • Every other weekend requirement
  • Flexibility required for holiday and holiday-adjacent scheduling
  • Floor-specific orientation: 3 shifts provided

Required Experience & Certifications

  • 2 years of stepdown experience in an acute care setting
  • BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips on Phillips monitors
  • Experience with cardiac drips: Cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine, heparin, and others
  • Competency with BiPap, CPAP, Vapotherm, and high-flow oxygen systems (non-ventilator)
  • MEDITECH charting system experience

Additional Expectations

  • You must live 75+ miles from the facility; driver's license verification required
  • Willingness to float to ICU for stepdown patients or assist with tasks if ICU experience is available
  • Dress code: Caribbean blue scrubs, natural hair color, no fake nails, no facial piercings, no visible tattoos
  • Cancellation policy allows 12 hours off every 2 weeks
