ICU RN Job in Kearney, NE

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the 33-bed Intensive Care Unit at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning May 11, 2026.

Shift & Schedule

• 3 twelve-hour shifts per week
• 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM options
• Every other weekend requirement
• Minimum of 2 holidays required during contract
• Self-scheduling for core staff with travelers added in

Patient Care

• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2–3 for adults; 1:4–1:5 when floating to PCU and Med-Surg
• Average daily census of 16
• Patient populations include trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress
• Titrate cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• Read, interpret, and document telemetry strips
• Manage equipment from nasal cannula to ventilators

Requirements & Credentials

• Current RN degree
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Valid driver's license required at submittal to verify residence outside 50-mile radius of facility
• Pass orientation exam on Wednesdays with 90% passing score
• 1 shift of unit-specific orientation provided
• Artificial nails prohibited; refusal to remove results in contract termination
• 30-minute response time required when called back from on-call status
