Med Surg RN Job in Albany, GA

You will work as a Registered Nurse on the acute Med Surg unit at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, GA. This is a 119-day travel assignment beginning April 27, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,102.40.

Shift and Schedule

• 3 nights per week, 12-hour shifts
• Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (unit closes Friday at 7:00 PM)
• Unit closed weekends
• Holiday requirements apply only when holidays fall on weekdays

Unit Details

• 14-bed unit with 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• You will admit and care for ED hold patients, overflow medical observation patients, and discharge-pending patients
• May float to Med Surg if census is low
• Charge nurse may take patient assignments

Your Responsibilities

• Medication administration (IV and PO)
• Basic patient care and pain control
• Blood sugar monitoring
• Oxygen therapy via nasal cannula
• MEDITECH charting system

Requirements and Restrictions

• Minimum 2 years experience in Med Surg specialty
• 1 prior travel assignment required
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications
• Basic Med Surg skills required; cardiac skills preferred
• BSN not required
• Strict 75-mile radius rule enforced
• You will not handle patients requiring IV drips, inmates, or patients requiring isolation precautions

Onboarding

• Typically 3 shifts of unit-specific orientation

• Caribbean Blue scrubs (top and bottom), OR Caribbean Blue bottom with white top, OR all white
