About this role
St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center is seeking an RN for their T8 Trauma, Orthopedic, and Surgical floor—a 30-bed acute care unit. You will work 3x12-hour night shifts with 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period, starting July 20, 2026, for a 91-day assignment at $2,125.44 weekly.
Role Overview
You will provide direct patient care with a 1:4–5 patient ratio. This unit specializes in post-operative care including transplants, Whipple procedures, spine surgeries, and orthopedic joint replacements, alongside trauma cases. You will float to medical/surgical telemetry floors as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years telemetry experience
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- BLS (AHA) and ACLS certifications
- BiPAP and CPAP ventilator experience
- Valid driver's license and personal vehicle (must reside outside 50-mile radius)
Clinical Competencies
You must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (2 attempts allowed). On Day 1, you will complete a SIMs Lab assessment covering Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes with demonstrated sterile field competency. Floor-specific orientation is 2 shifts. The unit uses Cerner for charting and Philips telemetry monitoring.
Facility Requirements
- Natural hair color; no facial piercings
- Men must be clean shaven for fit testing
- Navy scrubs required
- Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment (3 shifts for assignments under 13 weeks)
- Holidays worked based on unit coverage and integrated into permanent staff rotation
