About this role

HCA HealthONE Swedish in Denver is seeking an RN for its Progressive Care Unit (PCU). You will work three 12-hour day shifts per week, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, in a fast-paced cardiac and post-surgical intermediate care setting.

Role Overview

As a PCU RN, you will care for high-acuity progressive and intermediate care patients. Your typical patient ratio is 1:4, occasionally 1:5. You will manage telemetry, transport monitors, suction equipment, feeding pumps, tracheostomies, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high-flow oxygen, chest tubes, Foley catheters, pacer wires, IV pumps, and sequential compression devices. The EMR system is Meditech.

Clinical Focus Areas

  • Post-catheterization care, including right and left heart catheterizations, transcatheter aortic valve replacements (TAVRs), ablations, and Watchman procedures
  • Pacemaker implantations and pacer wire management
  • Tibial-radial (TR) band management and neurovascular checks
  • Post-thoracic surgery care for VATs, RATs, resections, and lobectomies
  • Pre- and post-open-heart surgical patients, including CABGs, mitral valve replacements (MVRs), aortic valve replacements (AVRs), and aortic dissection repairs
  • Vascular surgery post-operative care

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 1 year current acute care PCU hospital experience
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • 12-lead EKG interpretation
  • Oxygen management up to BiPAP and heated high-flow

Preferred Skills

  • Chest tube management and removal
  • Pacer wire removal
  • Experience with drips: heparin, diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, dobutamine, milrinone, and ketamine

Assignment Details

This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 20, 2026. Weekly pay is $1,839.60.
