Opportunity:

Cath Lab Technologist - Cardiac Cath Lab

Job Details:

• Work Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts with start times of 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• On-call coverage required for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• 40 hours per week guaranteed
• 12-week / 90-day assignment
• Perform EP and Cath imaging procedures at a technical level without constant supervision
• Demonstrate proper patient positioning and appropriate radiographic techniques for diagnostic and interventional procedures
• Maintain attentiveness to radiation safety for patients and all personnel in the procedure room, including proper use of lead shielding and monitoring devices
• Document patient radiation exposure in electronic record
• Support aseptic technique and patient safety protocols, including time-out processes
• Demonstrate competency in functioning in the first assist position
• Administer contrast under the direction of the procedure physician
• Provide scheduled stand-by call coverage in accordance with system-wide policy
• Maintain point of care testing standards including daily quality control for procedure devices
• Identify all patients using two patient identifiers and apply universal protocol when performing procedures
• Review patient history and physician orders, applying departmental protocols for optimal data acquisition
• Ensure all images are properly coded, tracked through PACS, and networked to appropriate electronic records
• Enter all charges adequately for procedures performed and maintain continuing education and competency requirements
• Scrubs are provided via scrub machine for both EP and Cath roles
• Required certifications: BLS
• Preferred certifications: ACLS (preferred but not required)
• Required credentials: ARRT Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiology, ARRT Certificate, Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist, Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, or Echocardiograph and Ultrasound certification
• Clearance required: Act 34
