ED Registered Nurse Job in Phoenix, Arizona

St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Emergency Department. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning June 22, 2026, with a weekly pay rate of $2,229.12.

Schedule & Compensation

• Work three 12-hour night shifts per week
• Four weekend shifts required per 4-week cycle
• Holiday coverage based on unit needs

Clinical Requirements

• Minimum 6 months of Trauma Level 1 experience
• Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• TNCC and ATCN certifications preferred (ENPC cannot substitute for PALS)
• Maintain 1:4 patient ratio
• Ability to read telemetry strips and operate Phillips monitors
• Pass DYS exam prior to acceptance (two attempts allowed)
• Pass/fail exam required on day 1 of orientation
• Complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and port-a-cath insertion (pass/fail requirement)

Work Environment

• Use Cerner electronic medical record system
• Float between four facilities: main campus, Westgate, and two free-standing emergency departments in Litchfield Park and Glendale
• Facilities are approximately 30 minutes apart and may require mid-shift travel
• Must have own vehicle for transportation between locations
• 50-mile radius applies to assignment
• Floor-specific orientation of 2–3 shifts
• Handle trauma cases, chest pain center patients, and spinal cord injuries
• Facility treats 88,000 patients annually (250–300 per day) with 30–40 psychiatric holds
