PCU Registered Nurse Job in Roanoke, VA

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, caring for adult patients with neurological conditions including neurosurgical recovery, stroke management, and neuro-specific diagnoses. The unit includes 5 dedicated beds for continuous 24-hour epilepsy monitoring.

Shift & Schedule

• 3x12 hour night shifts: 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
• One holiday per 13-week contract required
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• 91-day contract starting May 11, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,016

Patient Care & Clinical Skills

• Patient ratio of 1:4–5 (must be comfortable with 1:5 ratio)
• Cardiac monitoring, emergency response, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Central and peripheral line care, medication administration, and cardiac drips (no titration)
• Respiratory support, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Rapid Response and Code team participation
• Isolation precautions

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; charge experience preferred
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• EPIC charting experience required
• Comfortable floating to units within your clinical skillset
• Accepts first-time travelers and pending licenses from non-compact states

You'll receive 48 hours of orientation. All time-off requests must be included with your submission.
