PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Guaranteed 48 hours per week for 13-week contract
• Must work every other weekend and every other holiday
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours - may be low censused in hour increments
• Unit typically low census in 4-hour increments and may ask traveler to work only 4 or 8 hours of shift
• Must be outside 50-mile radius of facility location
• Required certifications: Wisconsin RN License, BLS, and ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• Must be able to pass EKG test during first week of hire
• Minimum 1 year strong cardiac experience (Cardiac SDU/Intermediate Cardiac/Cardiac ICU) required
• Minimum 2 years IMC/PCU/Telemetry experience required
• Must have experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro drips
• At least one completed travel assignment required
• 1 year recent EPIC charting experience required
• Work on 44-bed intermediate cardiac stepdown unit
• Fast-paced environment with high patient turnover
• Typical patient ratio 1:4
• Care for post-op CABG/Valve, thoracotomy, vascular, arrhythmia, CHF patients
• Handle post-procedure cardiac catheterization, pacemaker, defibrillator, and ablation patients
• Manage acute chest pain/MI and medical/surgical overflow patients including detox, DKA, COPD exacerbation
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Must wear mask at all times during flu season if declining flu and COVID vaccination
