X-Ray Technician Job in Bakersfield, CA

Mercy Hospital Downtown in Bakersfield is seeking an X-Ray Technician for a 91-day travel assignment. You'll work 5x8 day shifts at $2,482 per week, starting June 8, 2026.

About the role:

• Perform approximately 100 imaging studies per day across two scanners and rooms
• Work with common imaging types including brain, MRCP, abdomen, pelvis, and extremities
• Operate GE and Toshiba equipment
• Use Radnet and Merge Unity PACS systems for image management
• Complete charting in Cerner
• Work under lead technologist supervision with in-house radiologist support
• No IV starting required

Schedule and expectations:

• Day shifts with every other weekend requirement
• Holiday coverage: 1 major and 1 minor holiday per assignment
• On-call responsibilities on a rotating basis with 30-minute response time
• Subject to cancellation policy: up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
• May float to Mercy Southwest location (6.5 miles away)

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of radiology experience
• ARRT certification
• BLS (AHA) certification

What to expect:

• Department orientation provided by lead tech for at least one week
• Teal scrubs required
