ED RN Job in Bismarck, ND

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at CHI St Alexius Health Bismarck Medical Center. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting May 18, 2026, with 3x12-hour night shifts at $2,286.36 per week.

Your Shift and Schedule

• 12-hour shifts with varied start times: 7a–7p, 9a–9p, 11a–11p, 2p–2a, 7p–7a
• Every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday requirement
• Scheduling accommodates block preferences when possible based on department needs and staff availability

Your Clinical Responsibilities

• Treat 50–60 patients per day, primarily ESI Level 3 and Level 4, with occasional Level 1 cases
• Manage nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3–4 based on acuity, or 1:5 when boarding patients are grouped
• Care for patients across all ages—pediatrics to geriatrics—including traumas, CAH transfers, stroke, STEMI, shortness of breath, and abdominal pain
• Administer critical care drips including vasopressors, heparin, and antiarrhythmics with 1:1 ratios for ICU holds
• Start IVs and draw labs; phlebotomy available as a resource
• Read and interpret telemetry strips with physician verification
• Transport unstable patients to CT imaging as needed
• Float occasionally due to census and staffing needs

Requirements and Details

• Current North Dakota nursing license required
• Active ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
• BSN not required
• Previous travel experience preferred but open to first-time travelers
• 1–2 shifts of ED-specific orientation provided
• Any color scrubs permitted
• EPIC charting system used
