PCU Registered Nurse Job in Fishersville, VA

Join Augusta Health as a Registered Nurse in our Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This is a 91-day travel assignment starting June 29, 2026, offering a 3x12 night shift schedule at $1,944 per week.

Role Overview

You will provide direct care to acutely ill adult patients with a patient ratio of 1:5. You'll coordinate patient care and education while managing a wide variety of medical conditions including cardiac, neurological, renal, infectious disease, and pulmonary disorders. Your responsibilities include caring for patients with hypertension, CHF, chest pain, stroke (pre/post), COPD, PE, conduction blocks, acute/chronic respiratory failure, end-stage renal failure, AFIB, MI, NSTEMI, and GI bleeding.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Perform specialized procedures including insulin drips for DKA management and pre/post cardiac catheterization care
• Support patients undergoing pacemaker, ablation, and cardioversion procedures
• Operate specialized equipment including Sara Steady, Tenor, Maxi Move, Air Taps, bladder scanner, and vein finder
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response, and pharmacy

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience (first-time travelers accepted)
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Permanent address must be 50+ miles from facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Meditech charting system experience preferred

Schedule

Work every other Saturday; off every Sunday. This is a self-scheduling unit. Wear black or Caribbean blue scrubs.
