PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• PCU level of care on 4th Floor East Wing
• 55-bed unit with a 1:4 RN ratio for both day and night shifts
• Adult patient population with occasional pediatric patients ages 15 and older
• Common patient diagnoses include CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, subdural hematoma, and weakness
• Common drips and medications include PCA pumps for pain management, Cardizem, and insulin
• Telemetry competency required
• Charting system: EPIC
• IV pumps: Alaris
• Mechanical lifts available in every other room
• Additional unit support includes educators, care managers, social workers, dieticians, PT, and OT
• Nursing assistant and charge nurse support available
• Float to med/surg areas may be required based on highest need
• Scrubs: Navy Blue for RNs, Ceil Blue for CNAs
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• Pass/fail open book exam required during orientation with a minimum score of 90% required to pass
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• BSN not required
• Valid driver's license required at submittal
