CT Technologist Job in Pittsburgh, PA

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking a CT Technologist for a 90-day travel assignment at Southwest - UPMC Shadyside in Pittsburgh, PA. You'll work 4 days per week on day shift, earning $3,421 weekly.

In this role, you will independently perform computed tomography procedures utilizing established scan protocols, including contrast administration. You'll operate complex imaging equipment for acquisition, analysis, reconstruction, and documentation of image data. Your responsibilities include:

• Performing a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment to adjust protocols and apply prescribed ionizing radiation appropriately for diagnostic CT purposes
• Demonstrating proper technique in venipuncture and proper use of power injector according to set protocols
• Administering PO, rectal, and IV contrast per physician orders
• Assessing patients for potential risk factors prior to contrast media administration
• Communicating clearly and concisely with patients to explain procedures and help allay fears
• Identifying all patients using two patient identifiers and utilizing universal protocol when performing procedures
• Reviewing patient history and assessing physician orders, applying specific departmental protocols for optimal data acquisition
• Documenting patient history in electronic record as required
• Ensuring all exams are properly coded, tracked, networked for archiving, and charges are entered accurately

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience
• Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of accredited CNMT program
• ARRT Certificate and Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• PA Act 31, PA Act 33, PA Act 34, PA Act 73 compliance
• CT registry must be acquired within 18 months of primary registry acquisition or date of hire
