Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Position specialty is Med/Surg Telemetry with 36-hour or 48-hour shift options available
• Resource Pool position allocated to Cherokee Medical Center with potential to float to main campus Spartanburg Medical Center as needed - RN will know ahead of time where they are scheduled
• Patient ratio is 1:6
• Weekend coverage required on an as-needed basis
• On-call is required; two on-call shifts OR two additional shifts per 6 weeks is required, including holiday coverage
• Will float within scope to meet facility needs as part of a Resource Float Pool, including potential float to other units
• Guaranteed hours based on signed contract hours
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; 1+ year will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
• Travel experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Must demonstrate ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
• Telemetry test required upon beginning of placement
• Must pass Cardiac Dysrhythmia Test on the first day of orientation - only one attempt allowed
• Must be able to pass arrhythmia and medication test on first day
• Shaving may be required to pass fit test onsite
• Experience with special equipment including chest tubes and wound vacs required
• Common patient diagnoses include sepsis, dementia, post-op, ortho, chest pain, and rule-out strokes
• Centralized telemetry monitoring with a tech available
• Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
• All requested time off must be included on initial submission - time off requested after the fact will not be considered
• 75-mile radius rule applies - locals within 75 miles are not accepted
• Attendance policy in effect - more than two missed shifts per 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may result in contract review for cancellation
