NICU RN Job in Lafayette, LA

You will care for neonates and infants in the NICU at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette, Louisiana. This is a 56-week travel assignment working 3x12-hour night shifts at $2,044.80 per week.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in the NICU with a 1:3 patient ratio
• Float to mother baby and pediatrics units as assigned
• Care for neonates with diagnoses including prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, hypoglycemia, and congenital anomalies
• Operate specialized equipment including oscillators, bubble CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula
• Assist with procedures such as umbilical line management, PICC placement, and lumbar puncture support
• Participate in emergency response team during critical events as assigned
• Cover every other weekend as required
• Chart using the Epic system

Requirements:

• Current RN license (Louisiana or Compact license required at time of submission)
• BLS and NRP (AHA) certifications
• 2 years of NICU experience minimum for previous travelers; 3 years for first-time travelers
• Epic charting system experience
• Current NURSYS report (within 4 weeks of submission)
• Must live more than 65 miles from the facility

What to Expect:

You will receive 24 hours of orientation. A strict no call-in policy is enforced. The assignment begins June 22, 2026. First-time travelers with appropriate experience are accepted.
