Job Details:

• 8-hour day shifts with a 9:00 AM start time
• On-call weekends on a rotating basis, at least one weekend per month required
• Minor holidays are required
• Travel experience preferred
• Responsible for decontaminating, processing, assembling, sterilizing, and storing surgical instrumentation and medical equipment
• Assemble case carts for surgical procedures
• Rotation to all Central Sterile and Distribution areas required, including Sterile Processing & Distribution, Sterile Supply in the Main OR-University Tower, and UConn Health Surgery Center in the Musculoskeletal Institute
• Must be capable of running Olympus OER washers
• Must be able to pick case carts
• Must be able to identify instruments and work while standing
• 4-5 years of experience in a hospital setting involving sterilization, decontamination, processing, assembly, storing, and distribution of surgical instrumentation, supplies, devices, and equipment required
• CR-CST or CBSPD certification required
• EMR: EPIC
• Subject to mandatory overtime on an as-needed basis to ensure unit coverage
• May be floated to a different department, unit, or facility within 30 miles of originally assigned facility based on clinical competence
