Opportunity:

Histotechnician - SFMC - Pathology Lab Tech

Job Details:

• Work 8-hour night shifts from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM
• No weekend requirements
• No holiday requirements
• No call or standby call requirements
• Required certifications: ASCP certification (HT or HTL), Certified Histotechnician (HT) via ASCP, or Certified Histotechnologist (HTL) via ASCP
• BLS certification is not required
• Must have experience with microtomy, embedding, and ability to perform re-cuts
• Troubleshooting difficult blocks and maintaining detail orientation required
• Ability to work in high volume histology lab while maintaining case integrity
• Experience with special stains, tissue specimens, cell cultures, microscopic exams, routine histology, CLIA, IHC, frozen sections
• Must be proficient with routine maintenance, microtome, surgical pathology, technical procedures, immunofluorescence, hematoxylin
• Work with EPIC Beaker EMR system
• No specific scrub color requirements
• Daily training with trainer during department-specific orientation
• 12-hour orientation period (non-billable, guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation)
• Must pass drug screening for all panels
• Active Illinois license required
