Medical Lab Technician Job in Bethel, AK

You will work as a Medical Laboratory Technician at Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation in Bethel, Alaska. This is a 182-day travel assignment starting May 19, 2026.

Your Role

You will perform laboratory tests and quality control procedures while communicating with physicians, nurses, and patients. As a laboratory generalist, you will work across chemistry, blood bank, hematology, and microbiology. You will operate clinical laboratory instrumentation, work independently, and provide direction to Medical Laboratory Assistants.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field
• One to three years of related experience in chemistry, blood bank, hematology, and microbiology, or completion of a formal student internship
• Board eligibility by NCA or ASCP at hire; board certification required within one year of employment
• MT certification by American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or CLS certification by National Accrediting Agency (NCA) required within one year of employment

Schedule and Compensation

You will work 5x8 rotating shifts with a guaranteed 40 hours per week. Note that orientation begins on Tuesday of your first week, and guaranteed hours will not apply during that initial week. Your weekly pay is $2,482, with a bill rate of $85 per hour.

Housing and Travel

Housing is provided in shared units only—private housing is not available, and pets are not permitted. Airfare is paid initially by you and will be reimbursed upon arrival. This assignment offers a total duration of 182 days.
