Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 6S MedSurg Tele/Neuro/Stroke unit
• Schedule options: 3x12 or 4x12 shifts (overtime after 48 hours) - candidate preference should be indicated
• Every other weekend, float, and holiday coverage required within contract
• Patient ratio is 1:7 for days, nights, and weekends
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• Must have prior experience working with neurology/stroke patients in an acute care setting
• Must be proficient in EPIC - no exceptions
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association), NIHSS
• EKG/telemetry test required - must score 80% or higher to pass; only one attempt allowed with no remediation available
• Skills required: IV starts, telemetry interpretation, neurology/stroke patient care
• Additional skills include: accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tube management, CVA care, heparin administration, insulin management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, PICC line management, pre/post hemodialysis management, pre/post neurosurgery care, tracheostomy care, traumatic brain injury care, wound care/wound vac, and more
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
• 2 years of RN experience required
• Travel experience required
• Virginia or compact license in hand at time of submittal - no exceptions
• Permanent address must be more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered
