Med Surg RN Job in Roanoke, VA

You will work as a Registered Nurse on a 33-bed adult Medical Surgical unit at Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning June 29, 2026.

Schedule & Pay

• 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekly pay: $1,890
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
• One holiday required per 13-week contract; two holidays required during winter season

Clinical Responsibilities

• Patient ratios of 1:6, may flex to 1:7
• Care for patients with diagnoses including SCVA, SCI, TBI, amputee injuries, and multi-trauma
• Float to other Med Surg units as needed
• Provide peripheral line care and management
• Administer oxygen via nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management
• Implement isolation precautions
• Unit has no telemetry

Requirements

• Active Virginia State or Compact RN license
• Pending license accepted for single-state non-compact license holders only
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in Med Surg and Rehab settings
• BLS certification required
• CRRN preferred; CPI Blue Cert highly preferred
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted

You will join a team focused on adult acute care in a community hospital setting. This assignment offers the opportunity to build experience across multiple Med Surg units while maintaining consistent night-shift hours.
