Certified Surgical Technologist Job in Martinsburg, WV

WVU Berkeley Medical Center is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team in Martinsburg, WV. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting June 29, 2026.

Schedule & Compensation

• Work three 12-hour shifts per week (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Weekend and weeknight on-call rotations required
• Weekday call shifts: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM or 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
• Weekend call shifts: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM, or 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM
• 20-minute call response time required; staff more than 20 minutes away must remain on-site
• Weekly pay: $2,384.64

Role Responsibilities

• Maintain 1:1 patient ratio in the operating room
• Assist in all surgical cases except open heart surgery, including neuro spine, total joints, open fractures, general, ENT, and vascular procedures
• Float to outpatient surgery as needed and work in the surgical tech role
• Turn over operating rooms, as no aides or housekeeping support are available
• Participate in holiday call rotation as needed
• No floating to other units

Requirements

• Minimum one year of experience in surgical technology
• Two to three previous travel assignments required
• Current BLS (AHA) certification
• Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) via NBSTSA
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA
• Proficiency and experience with orthopedic assistance; orthopedic and neuro experience preferred
