PCU RN Job in Asheville, NC

You will work as an RN on the Progressive Care Unit at Mission Hospital's main campus in Asheville, NC. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a start date of June 15, 2026.

Assignment Details

• Unit: G7 floor with 23 step-down beds and 16 medical surgical beds
• Shift: 3x12 Days, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Weekly pay: $2,102.40
• Patient ratios: 1:3-4 for step-down patients, 1:4-6 for medical surgical patients

Clinical Responsibilities

You will care for stable ventilated patients, manage chest tubes and tracheostomies, administer cardiac drips, and perform wound dressing changes. You will use lifts and other equipment as needed. The unit utilizes the Cerner EMR system for documentation.

Staffing and Support

Day shift includes 1 charge nurse, 11 RNs, and 4 PCTs. Night shift includes 1 charge nurse, 10 RNs, and 4 PCTs. You may be asked to float to other medical surgical and progressive care units as needed.

Requirements and Preferences

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience
• Required experience with tracheostomies
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Previous Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Ability to demonstrate flexibility and high clinical competence

Additional Details

You will work 2 Saturday or Sunday shifts within each 6-week period. Navy blue scrubs are required. You should be prepared to adapt to the unit's operational needs and work collaboratively with the nursing and support staff.
