CVICU RN Job in Asheville, NC

You'll work as an RN in the CVICU Float Pool at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting March 30, 2026, with 3x12-hour day shifts (6:45 AM–7:15 PM). You'll earn $2,233.80 weekly.

Role Overview

You'll float across the CVICU, E4 (heart step-down/progressive care unit), and Cath lab recovery. The 16-bed CVICU is staffed by RNs only, with patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1, occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity. You'll be part of a rapid response team covering ECMO, LVAD, and Cath lab recovery capable units.

Required Experience

• ICU experience required
• Titration of vesicant medications, pressors, sedation, and paralytics
• Ventilators, trachs, and telemetry interpretation
• Hemodynamics understanding and PA catheter setup and interpretation

Equipment and Skills

You'll work with ventilators, telemetry, Baxter IV pumps, IABP, CRRT, Impella, and hypothermia devices. Advanced skills in IABP, Impella, and CRRT are desired. You'll assist with or perform cardioversion, central line insertion, EGD, bronchoscopy, and chest tube insertions. CCRN certification is recommended but not required.

Facility Details

Documentation uses the Cerner system. Orientation includes 4 hours of hospital orientation followed by an 8-hour shift on the floor. Dress code is all navy or navy and white scrubs only—no pullovers or hoodies.

Scheduling

You'll work 36 hours per week with 48 hours guaranteed and overtime after 48 hours. Alternating weekends are part of the schedule. RTO and special scheduling will not be accommodated.
