About this role

URMC Strong Memorial Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its Adult Emergency Department in Rochester, NY. This is a 12-hour shift position offering weekly pay of $2,604 for an 89-week assignment beginning July 6, 2026.

Role Overview

You will work in a high-volume emergency department that manages over 100,000 patient visits annually. Your responsibilities include providing direct patient care, managing diverse acute conditions, assisting with boarder patients as needed, and performing charge duties as assigned by unit leadership. You will work a rotating day/evening/night schedule with flexibility for weekends, holidays, on-call, and callback shifts based on operational needs.

Schedule and Hours

This position offers the flexibility to work either 36 or 48 hours per week on a 12-hour shift basis, allowing you to balance work and personal commitments.

Requirements

  • Current New York RN license
  • Minimum 2 years of emergency department nursing experience
  • Previous travel emergency nursing experience required
  • Telemetry experience required
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
  • ACLS certification (American Heart Association only)
  • NIHSS certification
