About this role
Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. is seeking a CT Technologist to join their team in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. You will work Monday through Thursday from 1:30 PM to 12:00 AM on an 89-day travel assignment beginning July 27, 2026.
In this role, you will operate CT scanner equipment to acquire high-quality diagnostic images according to established protocols and physician instructions. Your responsibilities include:
- Greeting and assisting patients, explaining CT scanning procedures and addressing concerns or questions
- Verifying patient identity, medical history, and physician orders to ensure appropriate imaging protocols are followed
- Positioning patients on the CT scanner table and immobilizing body parts to obtain clear images and minimize motion artifacts
- Adjusting scanning parameters such as slice thickness, exposure settings, and contrast administration to optimize image quality
- Monitoring patients during scanning procedures for adverse reactions or complications
- Reviewing CT images for quality, ensuring proper positioning, contrast enhancement, and absence of artifacts
- Performing image processing techniques including windowing, reconstruction, and multiplanar reformatting
- Assisting radiologists and physicians in image interpretation and providing technical documentation
- Adhering to radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles to minimize exposure
- Maintaining knowledge of safety procedures, equipment operation, and emergency protocols
- Performing daily equipment checks and quality control tests
- Collaborating with biomedical engineers and service technicians on equipment maintenance
- Participating in quality assurance activities and protocol optimization
- Providing guidance to colleagues and assisting with orientation of new staff
You will ensure proper documentation of all CT scanning procedures, patient assessments, contrast administration, and adverse events. This position requires an Allied Health Professional credential with expertise in CT technology.
