About this role

You'll work as a Registered Respiratory Therapist at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center serving a high-volume emergency department alongside ICU services. This is a 91-day travel contract beginning May 11, 2026.

Schedule & Compensation

  • 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Weekend requirement: every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week block
  • One holiday per 13-week contract
  • Weekly pay: $2,016

Your Role

You will provide respiratory care to adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients across neurotrauma, cardiovascular services, and medical/surgical ICU settings. Your patient ratio will be 1:25. You'll float within your scope of practice and receive 36 hours of orientation.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Critical care experience in a high-volume ER and Level 1 Trauma setting
  • Airway management: extubation, oral/nasal airway placement, and tracheostomy care
  • Aerosol and medication delivery systems, ABG interpretation, and ventilator management
  • Oxygen therapy and nebulizer setup proficiency
  • Experience with specialized equipment: Servo I, Servo U, V-60 BiPAP, Optiflow heated high flow, iNO with iNOvent, and LTV1200
  • EPIC charting experience required

Required Credentials

  • RRT certification (Registered Respiratory Therapist by NBRC)
  • BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Virginia Respiratory Care Practitioner license (other state licenses accepted with 90-day temporary authorization)

Candidate Profile

First-time travelers are accepted; one year of travel experience is preferred. You must reside more than 100 miles from the facility. This role is not open to local candidates.
