PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts with a variable schedule - no schedule requests, block schedule requests, or post-offer schedule changes can be accommodated
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Float within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Patient ratios: 4 patients per nurse on days, nights, and weekends
• 12 orientation hours required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required - first-time travelers accepted
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• 28-bed unit with a daily census of 28
• Must be flexible with holiday scheduling - travelers are expected to work major holidays that fall within their assignment period
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Charting system: Epic (required)
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• Patient ratio experience of 4-5 required
• Required skills include: Accessing/Managing Ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, Blood Product Administration, Cardiac Telemetry, Central line care/management, Chest tubes, CVA management, Feeding tube care and management, Heparin Protocols, High Flow Nasal Cannula, Interpretation of ABGs, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Isolation Precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, Cardiac and Vasoactive drip management, Management of dysrhythmias, Non-invasive airway management, Ortho trauma, PCA, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, Peripheral and PICC line management, Post Cardiac Angiogram, Post MI, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath, Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Pre/Post neurosurgery, Renal failure, Telemetry, Tracheostomy care/management, Traumatic Brain Injury, Wound Care/Wound Vac, and more
• Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Pharmacy
• Georgia or Compact nursing license required
