Respiratory Therapist Job in Washington, DC

Join Medstar Washington Hospital Center as a Registered Respiratory Therapist on our night shift team. You'll work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, three days per week, with every other weekend required. This 91-day assignment offers no call or float responsibilities, allowing you to focus on patient care with predictable scheduling.

Your Role

You'll provide comprehensive respiratory services to adult and geriatric patient populations, including ventilator management, high-flow therapy, BiPAP delivery, aerosol treatments, and chest physical therapy. Your clinical skills will encompass adult critical care, bronchoscopy assistance, emergency department procedures, extubation support, arterial blood gas interpretation, and tracheostomy care management. You'll work with established equipment including Puritan Bennett, Draeger, Servo I, Evita XL, Viasys Vela, and Maquet U ventilators.

Requirements

• RRT or CRT certification
• DC state respiratory therapist license
• BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years respiratory therapy experience
• Flu vaccination required with no exemptions
• Two supervisor references

What to Expect

First-time travelers are welcome. You'll complete facility-specific modules within one week of contract signing to ensure smooth integration with the team. The assignment begins May 11, 2026, and you'll earn $1,846.80 per week.
