Med Surg RN Job in Des Moines, IA

MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center is seeking a registered nurse (RN) for a medical-surgical nursing role with a focus on neurological patients. This is a 90-day travel assignment beginning October 19, 2026.

Position Details

• Work three 12.5-hour day shifts per week from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend and every other holiday schedule
• Weekly pay: $2,213.64

Your Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care to medical-surgical and neurological patients
• Monitor patient conditions and vital signs throughout your shift
• Administer medications as prescribed and document administration
• Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated patient care
