GI Lab RN Job in Latrobe, PA

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the GI Lab at Latrobe Hospital, providing direct patient care during day shift operations. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning May 11, 2026.

Role & Responsibilities

• Care for patients across all ages—adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Maintain a patient ratio of 6:1 during days and weekends
• Support procedures including EGD, colonoscopy, small bowel push, ERCP, video capsule endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, and PEG tube placement
• Monitor conscious sedation and manage airway during procedures
• Handle specimen collection and preparation
• Manage IV access and medication administration
• Provide pre- and post-procedure patient care
• Operate specialized equipment including ERBE electrical coagulation instruments, forceps, polyp snares, and esophageal banding equipment
• Float to other hospital departments and sister facilities within a 10-mile radius as needed

Schedule & Time Off

• Day shift, 8-hour assignments
• Weekend coverage required every sixth weekend
• Two pre-approved days off available during the assignment

Requirements

• Current RN license (PA state or Compact License)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Community hospital experience required
• Charge experience preferred
• ACLS and BLS certifications
• Proficiency with Cerner charting system
• Fingerprinting clearance within 24–48 hours of signing
• 15-panel drug screen within 24–48 hours of signing
• Clearance by Wednesday before start date
