Med Surg RN Job in Oklahoma City, OK

You will work as an RN on a medical/surgical unit at OU Health University of Oklahoma Medical Center, caring for post-surgical kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients on a mixed stepdown and acute care floor. This role offers you the opportunity to provide specialized nursing care in a transplant-focused setting.

Your Responsibilities:

• Care for post-surgical transplant patients and pre-transplant patients being evaluated during inpatient stay
• Monitor patients closely for infection, rejection, and ensure timely medication delivery
• Work medical/surgical or stepdown patients depending on unit staffing needs and nurse availability
• Assume responsibility for your assigned group of patients
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments
• Assist physicians in examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Obtain and monitor physiological data and intervene when necessary
• Administer medications as prescribed and manage IV infusions and blood products
• Interact with families regarding care plans and discharge planning
• Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of acute care surgical floor nursing experience (OR experience will not be considered)
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from accredited program
• Current Oklahoma RN License or multistate compact RN License
• Current Basic Life Support certification from American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications:

• ENT and/or transplant experience
• Preceptor and charge experience
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing

• Duration: 89 days

• Weekly pay: $2,397.60
