About this role
CHRISTUS St Vincent Regional Medical Center is seeking a travel Occupational Therapist for an acute care setting in Santa Fe, NM. This is a full-time position with a 4x10 day shift schedule, working 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with weekend requirements. The assignment is 91 days, starting August 10, 2026.
About the Role
You will assess and treat patients across the spectrum of illness, injury, developmental, and psychological impairments affecting their ability to perform Activities of Daily Living. Your work will include range-of-motion therapy, grooming and hygiene support, eating, dressing, toileting, driving, cooking, and work-related activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized plans of care for each patient
- Verify physician orders prior to evaluation and assess patients before administering treatment
- Administer occupational therapy modalities including ADL activities, splinting, ROM, endurance building, strengthening exercises, cognitive retraining, and coordination and dexterity training
- Apply therapeutic exercises, hot moist packs, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, paraffin, soft tissue mobilization, balance training, and functional mobility training
- Collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to direct all occupational therapy modalities
- Maintain regular contact with referring physicians regarding patient progress and recommend treatment modifications as needed
Your goal is to help patients regain, develop, and learn skills to achieve optimal independence while reducing joint strain, preventing further damage, and conserving energy.
Requirements
- Doctorate, Masters, or Bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy
- Minimum one year of Occupational Therapy experience preferred
- Current New Mexico state license required
- BLS certification from AHA required
Compensation
Weekly pay is $2,376. Blocked scheduling is not accommodated.
