CVOR RN Job in Sacramento, CA

You'll join Mercy General Hospital's cardiac operating room team as a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years of CVOR experience. This 91-day travel assignment begins May 12, 2026, offering a competitive weekly rate of $4,029.60.

Role and Responsibilities

• Work 5x8-hour varied shifts with call responsibilities; overnight call required once per week
• Cover 3 weekend shifts per month with 1 weekend call per month
• Function as first-to-float when needed
• Scrub in and manage 4–6 surgeries daily in a fast-paced environment
• Support cardiac procedures including CABG, valve replacements, and other cardiac operations (no thoracic)
• Read and interpret EKG strips with confidence
• Rotate holidays with core staff

Clinical Environment

You'll work across 4 operating suites dedicated to heart surgeries. The facility uses the Cerner EMR system. Scrubs are provided.

Onboarding and Support

Expect 1–2 days of floor-specific orientation with a preceptor. A unit interview and profile review will occur prior to your assignment start.

Requirements

• Current RN license and BLS (AHA) certification
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required
• Ability to interpret EKG strips and manage cardiac surgical patients
• Strong scrubbing skills and confidence in the CVOR setting
• Two supervisor references required at submittal—one from within the past 12 months and one from within 3 years (charge nurses accepted)
• First-time travelers are welcome
