Job Details:

• Work 12.5-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Administer medications and implement respiratory care in complex, multiple problem-patient care situations
• Majority of time spent in critical care areas with protocol ventilator management
• Perform patient assessments and therapy evaluations
• Administer aerosolized medication, bronchial hygiene, volume expansion, oxygen, and medical gas therapy
• Perform ventilator management, weaning, waveform graphic interpretation, and airway management including intubation, extubation, trach tube changes and care
• Perform arterial blood gas sampling and analysis
• Assist in invasive and non-invasive procedures, cardiac service procedures, and pulmonary diagnostic testing
• Educate patients and mentor/precept new employees, students, and peers
• Collaborate with healthcare team members in planning patient care
• Minimum 6 months of critical care experience required; 0-2 years of clinical experience required
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred
• Required certifications upon hire: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP (within 180 days), NBRC-RRT, and RCP
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and computer skills required
• Familiarity with databases and electronic charting required
