PACU RN Job in San Marcos, TX

CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital San Marcos is seeking an RN for their Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This is a full-time travel position running 91 days, starting August 31, 2026.

Position Details:

• 5-day work week with 8-hour day shifts (4x10 schedule can be accommodated)
• Weekly pay: $2,044
• RN license in Texas or compact license required

About the Role:

You will provide routine and complex nursing care in an independent clinical setting, working with patients in recovery from anesthesia. Your responsibilities include:

• Assess patients and implement the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor for side effects and treatment effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Support the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed
• Educate patients, family members, and caregivers on their learning needs

Patient Population: General surgery, orthopedics, urology, ENT, cath lab, endoscopy, gynecology, and pediatrics. No neuro or cardio cases.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a related nursing specialty
• BLS (AHA only), ACLS (AHA only), and PALS (AHA only) certifications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Critical Care, PreOp, and EPIC experience
• Perioperative RN Residency or recent OR/Perioperative experience
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing
