Med Surg RN Job in Charleston, SC

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical specialty at MUSC Health Charleston. This is a 91-day travel position starting July 13, 2026, with a weekly pay of $1,762.56.

Schedule and Expectations

• Three 12-hour day shifts per week, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Rotating schedule with every other weekend required, or 4 weekend shifts per month
• Holiday rotation required
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• May float within scope to meet facility needs
• May be asked to take on charge nurse responsibilities

Unit Details

You'll care for a 9-bed short stay unit that serves ED boarders, bedded outpatients, PACU boarders, and observation patients. Patient diagnoses may include sepsis, kidney disease, trauma, hyper/hypoglycemia, hypertension, congestive heart failure, pneumonia, urinary tract infection, cellulitis, fractures, liver disease, altered mental status, sickle cell vaso-occlusive crisis, pneumothorax, pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis, and electrolyte imbalances.

Requirements

• Minimum 1.5 years of Med Surg experience
• South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact State RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Epic charting system experience
• Travel experience required
• Charge experience preferred

• Dress code: Solid Royal Blue or White top with Royal Blue bottoms
• Guaranteed hours subject to facility calling off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Locals within 60-mile radius accepted on a case-by-case basis
