PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Float pool position - will not be assigned a home unit; will float between approximately 5 units across Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU departments and other Metro campuses as needed
• Patient ratio of 1:5 on days, nights, and weekends
• Minimum of 8 weekend shifts required every six weeks, combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed per unit
• 1 to 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• No on-call requirements
• Block scheduling not available
• Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks; cancelled shifts must be the regular assigned shift length
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off
• Charting system: Epic
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS, Missouri or Compact License
• Preferred certifications: ACLS
• Required skills: Cardiac Telemetry, Telemetry on-unit monitoring, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, MS/Tele, Neuro Stepdown, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath
• Preferred skills: Sheath Removal, Feeding tube care and management, Accessing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Central line care and management
• Patient diagnoses include: Sepsis, wound care, ETOH, SI, Renal Failure, AFIB, GIB, Stroke
• Patient population: Adults and Geriatrics
• Special equipment: Virtual Nurses, 12-lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte, Omnicell
• Interdisciplinary support available: IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy
• Previous Charge experience preferred
• Both Kansas and Missouri licenses or compact license required at time of submission
