Respiratory Therapist - Registered Respiratory Therapist

Job Details:

• Rotate between acute and long-term care settings working 3 twelve-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend required with at least 6 weekend shifts per 13-week contract
• Night call required 1 every other week
• Patient ratio experience required: 1:20
• Scrubs: Any shade of gray or gray/black combination
• Must have 1 year of experience
• Epic charting experience is a hard requirement
• New York state license required
• Required certifications: BLS, RRT, ACLS
• Work settings required: Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department
• Treat patients with diagnoses including CHF, COPD, pneumonia, respiratory failure, and respiratory infections
• Perform ABG sampling, ventilator management, patient assessment, and pulmonary hygiene
• Operate specialized equipment including Hamilton Vent, Servo-U Vent, NKV330 (NIV Device), AIRVO2, Dream Machines, and V30s
• Perform airway management including endotracheal tube/suctioning, extubation, intubation assist, nasal airway placement, oral airway placement, and tracheostomy/suctioning
• Administer nebulizer treatments via handheld, T-piece, and trach collar
• Provide oxygen therapy including bag and mask, ET tube, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), T-piece, and trach collar
• Manage ventilators including BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Float between units as required
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
