ICU Registered Nurse Job in Charlotte, NC

Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its ICU unit in Charlotte, NC. This is a 13-week travel assignment beginning June 29, 2026.

Position Details

• Schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours per week, nights from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Weekly pay: $1,969.92
• Patient ratios: typically 2:1, may flex to 3:1 during high census periods
• Every other weekend requirement
• Float requirement within facility; no call requirements

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience (no exceptions)
• Prior travel healthcare experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Current ACLS, BCLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Maximum 7 days RTO allowed with pre-approval

Clinical Skills

• Ventilator management, IV starts, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Blood product administration and central line care
• Continuous IV sedation and CVA/acute stroke management
• External ventricular drains (EVD), ICP monitoring, lumbar drain experience
• Post-neurosurgery management
• Arterial line management preferred

Patient Population & Equipment

You will work with a comprehensive stroke center patient population including strokes, craniotomies, aneurysms, and seizures. Specialized equipment includes EVD, lumbar drains, Camino, LICOX, NICOM, and Arctic Sun. Documentation uses Epic system with SBAR methodology.

Onboarding

24-hour orientation period (2 days or 2 nights). Dress code: navy blue and white scrubs.
