Med Surg RN Job in Bridgeport, WV

You will work as an RN on a 29-bed cardiac and telemetry step-down unit at WVU United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning June 15, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,332.80.

Schedule and Expectations

• Three 12-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend requirement (Saturday and Sunday for both day and night shifts)
• Holiday rotation schedule aligned with permanent staff
• Cancellation policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week contract

Clinical Responsibilities

• Manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6 patients
• Care for cardiac patients including post-catheterization, AMI, post-operative lung surgeries, respiratory failure, chest tubes, pacemakers, and post-PCI patients
• Titrate cardiac drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Integrelin, Heparin, Ativan, Lasix, and Nitro up to 50 mcg
• Read and interpret telemetry strips using Phillips monitors
• Float to other medical-surgical and telemetry units as needed
• Work with CNAs (ideally 1 CNA per 12 patients)
• Collaborate with a 24/7 charge nurse (day charge does not take patients; night charge carries an assignment)
• Coordinate with respiratory therapy for CPAP and BiPap equipment management

Required Qualifications and Certifications

• Current RN license
• ACLS and BLS certifications
• Experience with electronic charting systems (EPIC used at this facility)
