PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - IMC

Job Details:

• 13-week assignment with an immediate start
• 12-hour variable shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Float to all inpatient units as needed, including IMC and CTU units
• Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation required
• Low census eligible in hour increments; unit typically low censuses in 4-hour increments and may ask traveler to work only 4 or 8 hours of a shift
• 8-bed observation unit with a patient ratio of 1:4
• Treat patients with conditions including anemia, cellulitis, COPD, dehydration, and pre/post-op urology and GI cases
• Manage drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, and Heparin
• Average patient stay up to 48 hours with a high volume of admissions and discharges
• Ability to read and interpret EKG strips is required; EKG exam required during compliance
• Minimum 3 years of experience required with at least 1 prior travel assignment required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Required certifications: WI RN License, BLS, ACLS (AHA or ARC); NIHSS highly preferred
• Associate Degree or Certificate required
• Any color scrubs permitted
