Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Care for adult patients who are acutely ill with a wide variety of medical problems including cardiac, neuro, renal, infectious disease, and pulmonary conditions
• Accountable for the coordination of direct patient care and patient education
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Work every other Saturday with Sundays off
• Self-scheduling unit
• 24 orientation hours required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Permanent address must be 50+ miles from facility - local candidates not accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Charting system: Meditech (preferred experience)
• Scrub color: Black or Caribbean blue
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space
• Required skills include: cardiac telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, central line care and management, PICC line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, management of cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration), pre/post cardiac cath, post cardiac angiogram, tracheostomy care, wound care, blood product administration, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Special equipment includes: Sara Steady, Tenor, Maxi Move, Air Taps, bladder scanner, and vein finder
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
