Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with 36/36, 36/48, or 48/48 schedules available
• Rotating weekends and holidays required
• No call required
• Floating to Medical Surgical units required with 1:7 patient ratio
• PCU patient ratio 1:5, Medical Surgical ratio 1:7
• Weekend coverage: 2 Saturday and 2 Sunday shifts per schedule period for day shift, 6 Friday, Saturday, or Sunday shifts per period for night shift
• 24 hours of orientation (16 hours non-billable)
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• Must have at least 1 year PCU experience documented within past 2 years
• Accepts first-time travelers with Level 1 trauma experience
• Required certifications: AHA BLS, NIH, AHA ACLS
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Skills include blood product administration, central line care, dysrhythmia management, cardiac drips, telemetry, IV management, and use of rapid response teams
• Care for adult patients with daily census of 33
• Work with peritoneal dialysis and dialysis procedures
• Participate in nursing student support and clinical education
• Traveler's permanent residence must be 100+ miles from hospital service area
• Hospital may cancel one shift biweekly without penalty if census decreases
• Flu vaccine required with medical/religious exemptions only
