Med Surg RN Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in Medical-Surgical nursing. You will work 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) with guaranteed 36 hours per week.

Role Overview

You will provide post-surgical care on a 40-bed inpatient unit serving pre- and post-surgical adult and geriatric patients. You will float to all inpatient units as needed and handle 10–15 admissions per day in a fast-paced environment with 90–95% occupancy. Nurse-to-patient ratios on nights are 1:5 to 1:7. You must be able to multitask, prioritize based on patient acuity, and work effectively as a team member.

Scheduling & Compensation

You are required to work every other weekend and holiday. You are eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours with the potential to work reduced shifts in 4-hour increments. Weekly pay is $2,377.08.

Requirements

• Valid Wisconsin RN license
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 2+ years medical-surgical nursing experience with recent hospital experience
• Trauma level II experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR charting experience required
• Associate degree or certificate required; bachelor's degree preferred
• Must be located outside a 50-mile radius of the facility

Work Environment

You will work with Epic EMR, medication scanning rovers, and Alaris pumps. Any color scrubs are permitted. Masks are required at all times during flu season if you decline flu and COVID vaccination.
